Parent Webinars and  Meetings

All the parent meetings have concluded. However, you may view the videos through 5/31.

End of Group Survey

Each of you will receive a survey at the end of your child's group. This is essential information we rely upon to determine how you felt about the services and how much change you observed.

Using LUNCH Points™

To my pleasant surprise, several parents have asked if they could continue using LUNCH Points™. I have been working on a new version of it that is significantly faster (no entering in your name, child's name, or group; all of this information is passed automatically into the form). I will be making the program available to all families until August 31.

If you decide you are interested in using it past that point, and you are not participating in one of our school year programs, you will be able to purchase it for a small monthly fee.

If you are looking for the May Calendar, click here (it's on the new web site).

Summer Program/School Year 2017-18
I believe all of the families who are interested in having their child participate in summer have contacted us, at least I hope so. If you wish to discuss your child participating in Summary, Click here to access Summer Interest Form.

As for the School Year 2017-18 Program, if you are interested, please indicate so in the parent survey you will be completing.

Saying "Goodbye for Now"

It has been truly a pleasure working with your kids, teens, and parents. I hope that you have found the program useful. However, we are also interested in any and all feedback

If I can do anything to make your group participation more meaningful, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Thanks for reading through this. Feel free to be in touch if you have any questions.

Weekly Parent Update 05/05/17

Hi Parents,

We're getting "down to the wire." Here's the schedule for the upcoming week.

Next Week's Group Schedule.

For the week starting 5/8, we have one group meeting:
  • 6-8:  Tuesday, May 9, , from 4 to 6 PM. Regular Office Meeting. Drop off and pick up at Gelsons.

Parent Webinar and  Meetings

Webinar:  This is our final Monthly Parent Webinar will be occurring on Wednesday, May 10 at 7:30PM. If you need to register, click here. You are welcome to bring up any topics you wish to clarify prior information, but we will also be discussing what kinds of social skills you are trying to help support and how that is occurring. Feel free to send me questions in advance and, of course you can participate online through active conversation and/or written questions.

Parent Meetings: This month Parent meetings will be held on the following dates:
  • Thursday, 5/11, 12pm-1:30pm·
  • Saturday, 5/13, from 10:00am to 12:30pm
·      Please click here to RSVP

If you are looking for the May Calendar, click here (it's on the new web site).

Are You Interested in Sending Your Child to the Summer Program?
We have already heard from about a dozen families and I will send out our first mass mailing the beginning of next week to clinicians and agencies, which will likely fill up the group. If you are interested in learning more, please click here to read through a recent post where I covered this in more detail. You can also find information on the updated www.lunchgroups.com website.

If you wish to discuss your child participating in Summary, Click here to access Summer Interest Form

Getting Ready to Say "Goodbye for Now"

We are down to our final two sessions for the School Year programs. That mean you still have time to attend webinars, parent drop in meetings, and ask questions or discuss situations. Many of you have both attended webinars and drop in meetings. But some have attended neither. It may be your family situation hasn't permitted this level of involvement or that you are not finding the information useful. However, if there is anything you wish to review, I highly encourage you to attend one of the three upcoming Parent Meetings. Families who have come bring up a broad range of topics, including: generalizing group gains; managing technology, school assessments; how to effectively participate in IEP meetings; and adjunct services, just to name a few. If you haven't accessed the videos, they will be available until the end of May, then your access will expire.

If I can do anything to make your group participation more meaningful, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Thanks for reading through this. Feel free to be in touch if you have any questions.

Weekly Parent Update 04/28/17

Hi Parents,

Next Week's Group Schedule.

For the week starting 5/1, we have three group meetings occurring:

  • 8-11:  Tuesday, May 2, from 4 to 6 PM.
The two older groups, below, have a 2nd community outing, for bowling at Pinz in Studio City. Please remember, we will be meeting there, not at the office and dinner is included. (FYI, the younger "snack" groups had an extra raffle instead of a community outing). Parents for the older groups will receive fliers the day before each group providing details for this outing.

  • 11-13: Wednesday, May 3, from 4:15 to 6:45PM
  • 14-17: Thursday, May 4, from 4:15 to 6:45PM

Parent Webinar and  Meetings

Webinar:  Our final Monthly Parent Webinar will be occurring on Wednesday, May 10. If you need to register, click here. You are welcome to bring up any topics you wish to clarify prior information, but we will also be discussing what kinds of social skills you are trying to help support and how that is occurring. Feel free to send me questions in advance and, of course you can participate online through active conversation and/or written questions.

Parent Meetings: This month our final Parent meetings will be held on the following dates:
Only a few parents have signed up for either meeting, below, so far. This is your final chance to attend a parent drop-in meeting.
  • Thursday, 5/11, 12pm-1:30pm
  •  Saturday,  5/13, from 10:00am to 12:00pm
  • I am willing to meet for a third meeting, but need your input. Please write in under "Other" for the RSVP when you would like to be able to attend and I will try to make it work out. Please DO NOT send me an email with this information, (much harder to keep track).
IMPORTANT: Please click here to RSVP

Are You Interested in Sending Your Child to the Summer Program?
I don't mean to bother anyone about this topic, but I'd had a couple of families inquire to confirm their child can attend, yet I had not previously heard from them and they did not fill out the brief interest survey below. In last week's update, I told families to expect to hear from me by 4/25. I'm sorry that didn't happen. I'm currently in Washington DC until 5/2, so I've gotten a little behind on this part of thing. Emails to families will go out by 5/3.

If you did not previously express interest in the Summer Program and are now interested, please complete the form by Clicking Here. If you already clicked on this link and know you filled out a survey, please do not complete it a second time. I appreciate the interest, but that makes it more difficult to track things.

Final Thoughts

This month, May, begins our final two sessions for the School Year programs. If you haven't accessed the videos, they will be available until the end of May, then your access will expire.

If I can do anything to make your group participation more meaningful, please don't hesitate to reach out.

Thanks for reading through this and for participating. Feel free to be in touch if you have any questions.
